It’s Been a Year! | Thank You

IT’S MY BLOGIVERSARY!

Aaahh!! I can’t believe my little corner of the internet is one year old. Coincidentally, I’m about 3 posts away from my 100th post..and on the 30th of this month, my boyfriend and I will be celebrating our 6 year anniversary. It’s quite an exciting month full of reflection, appreciation, and love.

For those who are newer to my blog, I began under a different site name where I focused solely on health and weight loss. I kept with that theme for a few months but eventually started to feel like it was limiting me. For a while, I was hesitant to change my site name but I felt like it needed to be done. Most of you have gotten to know me under my new site name, What Makes Me Amber.  After changing to the new name I immediately felt “liberated” in a sense, because I could finally post everything I had wanted to without fear that it would contradict my theme. I’d like to think that now I don’t really have a theme, I just share what I enjoy! Of course I do tend to favor certain things like music and cooking/baking but anything goes, really. I have so much fun and thoroughly enjoy having a place to come to at the end of my day and simply write about things that I’d like to share with you all. On the contrary, I have learned so much from reading your posts and getting a glimpse into lives that are both similar, and very different than mine. I have befriended folks here that live as close as the same state. I have also befriended those who live oceans away in different countries. It never fails to amaze me that no matter where it is that we call “home”, all of us are able to come together over common interests, our struggles and hardships, the little things that make us happy, and the simple love of sharing what we are passionate about in life.

I want to thank you for welcoming me into the WordPress community with open arms, for taking the time to read my posts (even just one!), for leaving sweet comments that always make my day, and for just supporting a fellow blogger on her journey.
